14th June, 2023
Domino’s Pizza is making some big changes to its business in Australia and Denmark. In Australia, they’re closing down their construction and supply operations, and in Denmark, they’re closing 27 stores. They’re also closing 70 stores in other parts of the world as part of a plan to turn things around.
These changes are aimed at making the company more efficient and profitable. Domino’s expects that by streamlining their operations, they can increase their earnings by $25-30 million in the future. This is compared to the $113.9 million they made in the first half of this year.
The closures in Denmark only represent a small percentage of Domino’s total number of stores worldwide. The decision to close these stores is because the previous owners didn’t follow food safety rules, and it caused people to lose trust in the brand. Despite efforts to win back customers, the damage was too severe.
As part of the changes, they’re also getting rid of some underperforming stores and selling others to more experienced owners. This will help them save money in the long run.
Although these changes will cost the company between $80-93 million, they believe it’s necessary to make the business stronger. The CEO acknowledges that it’s tough to close any store, but it’s the right decision for these locations.
Recently, Domino’s has been facing challenges with not enough people ordering their pizzas. This led to a drop in their profits. They had also predicted that their profits for this year wouldn’t meet expectations.
While these changes might improve things in the future, experts are worried about the company’s overall business model unless they can make customers happier and help franchise owners make more money.
Domino’s doesn’t expect their sales to grow much this year, even with the changes they’re making.
